Understanding Suicide Risk in ADHD

Using the Integrated Motivational-Volitional (IMV) Model of suicidal behaviour as a framework, we'll explore how ADHD-related challenges may interact with experiences such as feeling overwhelmed, trapped, or defeated, and how factors such as stigma, criticism, and misunderstanding may contribute to suicide risk for some individuals. Drawing on both quantitative and qualitative research with adults with ADHD, I'll discuss what these findings can tell us about suicide risk in ADHD and share practical, collaborative approaches to safety planning and support.
