What happens when you spend years building an academic career without understanding why you're overwhelmed and exhausted? In this talk Dr Erica McIntyre shares that story and explores why her capacity as an ADHDer swung so widely from one situation to the next — and why understanding this was the beginning of real change. Drawing on her research and coaching, she offers a way of thinking about capacity that accounts for environment, situation, and the identities we carry into our work, and what changes when you stop believing you're the problem.
