Daley Jones founded and runs London’s Metropolitan Police’s ADHD workplace support group. It now has over 600 Police Officers and is, to ADHD UK’s knowledge, the largest of its kind in the UK. It is catalysing the creation of groups in other police forces – with groups now starting in other Police Force’s around the country.

Daley Jones has ADHD. He founded and runs London’s Metropolitan Police’s ADHD workplace support group. It now has over 600 Police Officers and is, to ADHD UK’s knowledge, the largest of its kind in the UK. It is catalysing the creation of groups in other police forces – with groups now starting in other Police Force’s around the country. Daley will be talking about the group, how it works, and what it is achieving. He will also talk to ADHD on the other side of the justice system.
Daley will be providing a presentation followed by a Q&A at the end.
Our NHS Trust has a Neurodiversity support group and we are struggling to get the basic information across regarding Reasonable Adjustments and the Access to Work process. Do you have any advice for us?
These sessions are fantastic but I can’t stay awake for 24h but do not want to miss anything. Are these sessions being video’d so we can watch them later?
what are your thoughts on police and the neurodiversity. In particular professional standards. The struggles of ADHD and policing from my personal preceptive do not work. I lost my job with GMP, due to a emotional dysregulation incident in 2022

With the benefit of hindsight, what would your 3 top tips be for setting up an ADHD workplace group ?
Do you have any contact/involvement with the international police association? Like my fellow commenters, I left the Police (not Met) contributed to by unhelpful attitudes to PTSD (literally told to “just grow a pair and get on with job”), which has just been recognised, nearly a decade later, by the psychiatrist who gave me my ADHD diagnosis a few weeks ago. I joined the IPA to stay connected with my former colleagues. If not, I wonder if there’s scope for trying to do something to support neurodivergence in policing internationally, as well as the Met?
