Catherine Hinwood OBE

Deputy Director, Chief Delivery Office, NHS England

Catherine was appointed NHS England’s ADHD Programme Director in December 2023. She leads NHS England’s work to improve service provision and experience for those with ADHD and their families and supports its ADHD taskforce. Catherine is also NHS England’s Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Programme Director. Catherine was awarded an OBE in King Charles’s first honours list in 2023 and received the 2023 University of Technology, Sydney Law Alumni Award. Catherine is an Adjunct Fellow of the Law Faculty of the University of Technology, Sydney.

Founder and Clinical Lead of NatureDoc

 

Lucinda Miller is the clinical lead of the UK-wide NatureDoc team specialising in supporting neurodivergent minds. With over 25 years of experience as a naturopath and qualifications in Functional Medicine, Lucinda has authored three bestselling books The Good Stuff, I Can’t Believe It’s Baby Food and Brain Brilliance. She lectures at the leading UK nutrition colleges and is a popular speaker at schools. She and two of her children live and thrive with ADHD.

Louise has over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the independent sector developing and testing innovations to improve user outcomes. She joined Brain in Hand in 2018 as Head of R&D and became Chief Exec in 2019.

Until 2017, she was CEO of the Dartington Social Research Unit, a national research charity that brought evidence to bear on policy and practice. Louise was awarded a PhD by Exeter University in 2003 and is a fellow of the NHS Innovation Accelerator.

Tania Martin is the founder of PegSquared and an experienced Neuro-inclusion consultant, speaker and trainer.  She helps workplaces navigate neurodiversity at both an organisation and individual level.  From her time leading the award-winning UK’s Neuro-Diverse Centre of Excellence at EY, she provides a real world company lens on neuro-inclusion. This is underpinned by 20+ years’ experience of leading complex transformation programmes across both people and technology in large global organisations.  These skills together enable her to bring a unique perspective to organisations wanting to create neuro-inclusive workplaces. Her journey also includes navigating her own career with ADHD, diagnosed in 2022, providing a distinctive firsthand perspective on neurodiversity at work.

Daley Jones founded and runs London’s Metropolitan Police’s ADHD workplace support group. It now has over 600 Police Officers and is, to ADHD UK’s knowledge, the largest of its kind in the UK.  It is catalysing the creation of groups in other police forces – with groups now starting in other Police Force’s around the country.

Atif Choudhury

Chief Executive of Diversity and Ability
Atif Choudhury is the co-founder and CEO of Diversity and Ability, an award-winning UK-based social enterprise dedicated to promoting inclusivity and accessibility, particularly for disabled and neurodiverse individuals. He is a community advocate challenging perceptions of disability, neurodiversity and homelessness through his work. Atif is an advisor to the WHO Rapid Assistive Technologies board and active in disability policy work with global partners and international organisations. In the UK, his work to strengthen participation and tackle disabling poverty has fostered partnerships with homelessness NGOs including Citizens Online, St Mungo’s, and Crisis, as well as the Government’s Tackling Loneliness Network through the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. He has also served as a trustee for Disability Rights UK, is a member of the advisory board for Neurodiversity in Business, and co-founded the Fairtrade Palestinian olive oil cooperative Zaytoun CiC.

Joseph founded Drug Free ADHD after being frustrated that his shrink would only offer him meds. He then set out on a 7-year long journey of Self-experimentation before sharing the Drug Free ADHD method with the world.

Dr Neil Alexander-Passe

Expert in Dyslexia and Mental Heath, Author
Dr Neil Alexander-Passe experiences dyslexia himself, and has over the last 20 years specialised in the emotional experience of having a learning difference, called ‘lived experience’. He has published fifteen books and twelve peer review papers in the field of dyslexia and neurodiversity, looking at correlations with mental health, success, crime, creativity, parenting and marriage.  He gained his PhD in 2018 investigating ‘Dyslexia, Traumatic Schooling, and Post-School Success.’ He uses the ‘bi-ability’ theoretical model for dyslexia/invisible disabilities, and the use of a ‘post-traumatic growth (PTG)’ concept to understand how many individuals with dyslexia/invisible disabilities can be successful ‘despite or because’ they experienced traumatic schooling as children. He is an expert in dyslexia and mental health, looking at the ‘lived experience’ resulting in trauma, as well as what makes a successful dyslexic, having a dyslexic partner, and being a dyslexic parent. His latest book was published in June 2024 on ‘ADHD and Crime: investigating the school to prison pipeline’. Another ‘ADHD: School, Addiction, and possible pathways to crime’ will be published soon.

Dr Tom Nicholson has ADHD. He is a star academic in the field of understanding ADHD and the neurodivergent experience. He is revealing his unpublished research on evidence-based positives of ADHD, including results from Tom’s analysis of thousands of research papers on ADHD. There are positives of having ADHD but sometimes, the research doesn’t reflect this! This is a detailed understanding and map to help articulate the positives of ADHD in your life.

Unmasking the journey; ADHD, invisible illness, and the power of women’s voices

Oli invites you into her world of masking and unmasking, of hiding and thriving, and of well-being strategies as she explores what it means to live fully with ADHD. Reflecting on this journey, she reveals how it led her to guide a multidisciplinary team in the groundbreaking project Hiding or Thriving: The Lived Experiences and Coping Strategies of Women and Gender-Diverse People with ADHD. Together, they ask women and gender diverse people to share their stories, piecing together the first threads of a larger, shared narrative in the ADHD community Healing Project. Oli will touch on some of their early discoveries, offering a glimpse into this unfolding collective experience.

Ashleigh Behrens will present her PhD research, exploring the experiences and relationships ADHDers have at school. Lucas Sach will follow with his honours research, including interviews with females with ADHD, looking at their personal school experiences as a female with ADHD. Finally, hear from Stephanie, a 20-year-old with ADHD, as she shares her journey following a late diagnosis and reflects on her school experiences.
