Nina Fundraising Video
Hello. I wanted to share my fundraising journey for ADHD UK. I'm quite new to fundraising, so having some ideas but not a 100% sure on what to do, I had a look at the website which gave me lots and lots of ideas but one that I thought we could do quite quickly was a car boot sale. Having a pile of things accumulating in our spare room that needed to be sold. I thought this was a great opportunity to do that. So I spoke to my daughter who was really keen on the idea of helping me and spent days sorting through her toys, some reluctantly giving up, but others quite willing to help to raise money. So we set off about 06:00 to the local car boot sale, which is a really busy, big car boot sale so it was ideal really.
We set up stalls, my daughter had her own stall and although she was quite nervous initially about negotiating and meeting people she actually really got quite into it and was quite proud of herself at the end for raising money. So it was a great opportunity for her. We met a couple of people, that were quite interested. We had a little leaflet on the ADHD UK website and we had one person that had ADHD and was quite keen to have a look and chat to us and one person that was not quite sure whether he had ADHD but we directed him to the website so I'm sure he would have had a look. We ended up raising £80 which was about what we expected, but the opportunity to continue to do that with the car boot sale is still there.
So my daughter who's keen to do another one is busy finding more things that she could sell. So we're hoping to do another one before the weather turns. Next year, I'm quite interested in doing the bike ride in Brighton. So as soon as we can sign up for that, I'll start getting my bike out and building up for that next year. It's a great opportunity, it was really good actually and nice that my daughter who also has ADHD was involved and it's an opportunity to build her confidence and you know meet other people that she did when we did the car boot sale that have ADHD. So we're keen to continue and raise more money.
